Heads-up

The observatory will be temporarily restricted from January to March 2027 for renovation. Exact dates are not announced, so check the official website before you plan a visit in those months.

There is no set weather closure, but the tower stops operating if vehicles are restricted in Namsan Park. Hours can also change with the weather, so call ahead if conditions look bad.

Getting in

Route
Take the Namsan Circular Bus (남산순환버스) 01A or 01B from Chungmuro Station Exit 2 (Lines 3, 4) or Dongguk University Station (Line 3). Buses run 06:30–23:00, every 9 minutes (01A) or 14 minutes (01B), for 1,500 won, as of October 2026. As of 2024, at the Namsan Yejang stop, wheelchair users press the button and board through the exit door.
Other routes
Sources differ on how easy the Namsan Cable Car is to use by wheelchair. Call the information desk at 02-3455-9277 or 9288 (+82-2-3455-9277 from abroad) to ask. Official walking routes take about 30 to 40 minutes, and some use stairs.
Cars
Regular cars cannot drive up Namsan, so park nearby and take the bus. There is accessible parking, and cars with a disability registration sticker and a grade 1–3 welfare card can drive to the tower lot. Sources differ on the grade limit, so ask the information desk whether this covers you.
Entrance
The main entrance is wide and has no steps, with tactile paving. Approach paths are wide too, though some appear to use ramps.

Inside

Floors
Go to Plaza 5F for the observatory entrance, information desk, and ticket machines. The viewing floors are Tower 4F and 5F, plus a roof terrace on Tower 2F.

The building has elevators, and indoor floors are flat. One wheelchair traveler wrote in 2025 that they rode the elevator to the top with ease and looked around several viewing floors.
Toilets
Accessible toilets are on 1F, 2F, 4F, 5F, and T5. Some have wide doors and room to move a wheelchair.
Wheelchairs
Borrow a wheelchair for free on 5F if moving around is hard, as of October 2026. For details, call the information desk at 02-3455-9277 or 9288 (+82-2-3455-9277 from abroad).
