Haneul Park

By wheelchair, you can enter Haneul Park without a step, but the top is a long uphill climb; if walking is hard, the electric cart saves it. It is a park on a restored landfill, with views of Bukhansan and the Hangang River and a silver grass festival each October.

Wheelchair
Partly accessibleThe entrance has no step and the top has accessible toilets, but the way up is a long climb, cart access is not known, and some paths are rough or have stairs.
Walking load
MediumThe electric cart saves the climb and the silver grass fields at the top are on flat ground, but the area is wide, some ground is rough, and seeing it all takes over 10,000 steps.

Heads-up

Decide how you will reach the top before you travel. If the cart can't take your wheelchair, the other ways up are the long uphill road or stairs, unless driving up is still allowed.

The last cart up leaves 30 minutes before service ends. Service ends as early as 18:00 from December to February, as of October 2026, so go up early.

A notice dated August 9, 2023, announced entry restrictions at Haneul Park during a typhoon advisory. If a storm is forecast, call the park office at 02-300-5501 (+82-2-300-5501) before you go.

Getting in

Entrance
You can reach the main entrance by wheelchair. The entrance and the path to it are wide and have no step.
Way up
The road to the top climbs the whole way, about 1.3 to 1.5 km on 2022 information. Stairs also go up, including 429 steps on the south side.
Electric cart
The Maengkkongi electric cart (맹꽁이전기차) runs between Nanjicheon Park (난지천공원) and the top. Board near the entrance to the Nanjicheon Park parking lot. If you use a wheelchair, call the cart office at 010-6702-5460 (+82-10-6702-5460) to ask whether it can take you.
By car
Accessible parking is at the Nanjicheon Park lot toward the Children's Forest Experience Center. Inside

Paths
At the top, the cross-shaped center road and the edge roads are asphalt, and most other paths are flat, firm earth (2022 information). Some stretches are gravel or uneven, so take care with a wheelchair or stroller. In 2022, signs reading 편안한 길 (easy path) marked wider, even paths.
Stairs, ramps
Few areas are out of reach by wheelchair, but stairs connect some spots (2022 information). A ramp and deck path lead to the Sky Observation Deck, and a wheelchair can pass through the large gate sculpture (하늘문).
Toilets
Accessible toilets are at several spots on top, including the visitor center, which has grab bars, a backrest, and an emergency bell. Another is at the Nanjicheon Park parking lot, on the cart stop side. At least one accessible toilet in the park has room for a power wheelchair.
Weather
The top has little shade and strong wind. Bring sun protection and a warm layer.
Wheelchairs
You can borrow a wheelchair or stroller at the summit information center, where the electric cart stops. It was free in 2022, and the number of wheelchairs is not known.
