Heads-up
Most shops may be closed on Sundays and public holidays, and some close early on Saturday afternoons. This is older information, so plan a weekday visit.
What we know
- Entrance
- You can reach the main entrance by wheelchair, with no step on the approach or at the entrance. This does not cover every market path or shop door.
- Paths
- Some alleys around the market may be narrow and winding, with shops packed close together and cargo carts and motorbikes passing through. This is older information from 2013 and 2019.
- Elevators
- Buildings A and B have elevator symbols on the first-floor plan: two in A and one in B. It is not known if they carry passengers, which floors they reach, or if a wheelchair fits.
- Toilets
- Toilets are marked in Buildings A and B on the first-floor plan, but it is not known if a wheelchair user can use them.
- Other toilets
- Hullyeonwon Park parking lot (훈련원공원주차장), 227 Eulji-ro, has toilets in the east and central areas of Basement 2. In a copy of national toilet records dated October 9, 2026, they include stalls for people with disabilities and are marked as open at all hours. Its distance from the market is not known.
- Route
- For directions, the market points to Euljiro 4(sa)-ga Exit 6 and Jongno 5(o)-ga Exit 7. These exits have no street elevator, so see Getting there.
- Parking
- Street parking near the entrance was paid and hard to find outside weekday mornings (older information from 2013). Take public transport if you can.
- Guide dogs
- You can bring a guide dog.
- Hours
- Hours and closed days vary by shop, as of October 2026. In older 2019 information, hours were 07:00–20:00 on weekdays and 07:00–15:00 on Saturdays, and they varied by shop.
- Baking shops
- As of February 2026, only 4 baking-supply shops remained in the baking alley, and packaging shops outnumbered them. Several first-floor shops had vacancy signs at the time.
- Contact
- Call the market at 02-2268-6691 to 6694 (+82-2-2268-6691 from abroad) or email master@bangsan-tmk.com. The merchants' association number is 02-2266-8765; sources differ on which covers this address, so try the market first.
