Heads-up

The library closes on some Saturdays and on public holidays. Check the monthly calendar on its homepage before you go.

Bring your passport. Foreign visitors need it or an alien registration card to use the reading rooms.

Getting in

Entrance
The doors are automatic. The outside entrances have 3 ramps for wheelchair users.
Route
Use Exit 6 of National Assembly Station if you need an elevator. Exit 1 is about a 3-minute walk, but that time does not apply to Exit 6. Older information from 2013 appears to place Exit 6 on the Members' Office Building side, so allow extra time.
Parking
Parking inside the National Assembly grounds is for official vehicles and protected vehicles, such as those of people with disabilities. Ask the library whether your vehicle qualifies. Other visitors use the National Assembly riverside lot, free for 2 hours. Parking has 28 spaces for people with disabilities.
Visit pass
Using the library is free, as of October 2026. Parties of up to 4 can look around the reading rooms without booking. Sources differ on whether a party of 4 counts. If you are 4, email the likely contact, intlcoop@nanet.go.kr. Show ID at the information desk to get a visitor pass. Leave your ID there.
Reading pass
Reading rooms are for college students and people 18 or older. Visitors aged 12 to 17, except elementary school pupils, need approval from the library director, an application form and ID. Foreign visitors need a passport or alien registration card. A same-day mobile pass needs no membership and works with phone verification or a Naver, KakaoTalk or Facebook login, for reading in the rooms only. Otherwise, sign up on the homepage or at the registration desk, show ID at the information desk, and get a day pass from the machine. Before you enter, put bags and other belongings in a locker, except a laptop, personal books and writing tools.

Inside

Elevators
The building has elevators. 2 are for people with disabilities and are marked as being at Gate 2. The connecting passage to Uijeonggwan (의정관) has 1 ramp.
Seating
Seats for people with disabilities are likely on floors 1, 2, 3 and 5, and on floor 3 of Uijeonggwan. Several rooms have height-adjustable tables for wheelchair users. Call 02-6788-4230 (+82-2-6788-4230) about these seats. For visitors with disabilities, the 1st-floor loan desk can handle materials from different reading rooms in one place. The library is a wide, open space with large reading areas.
Toilets
The library has 6 accessible toilet and washbasin areas. On floor 1, the accessible toilet is to the right after the entry gates. It has a folding door, grab bars, a backrest, automatic flush and an emergency call bell.
Wheelchairs
You can borrow a wheelchair. There is 1 at the information desk. The 1st-floor loan desk has 1 fast charger for power wheelchairs.

Guide service
Groups of 5 to 15 can book a free English guide service on weekdays at 10:00, 14:00 or 16:00. It takes about 40 minutes. Book from 2 months ahead up to at least 3 days before. Sources differ on the deadline, so ask by email when you book. The likely contact for questions is intlcoop@nanet.go.kr.
Support
For hearing needs, there are public hearing aids, voice amplifiers, a remote sign language PC at the 1st-floor loan desk, and a video phone at the information desk. For vision needs, there are audio guidance, braille printing, magnifiers, screen readers, 2 tactile maps with voice guides, and a reading-aloud room on floor 3. Floor 1 has a children's room and a nursing room. Children of elementary school age or younger need an adult with them on a look-around visit.
