Korean Forest Garden

You can visit this garden by wheelchair, with a step-free main entrance and an accessible toilet, but expect a long, steep slope on the way in. Korean Forest Garden (남산 한국숲정원) opened on June 27, 2026, at the former Namsan Outdoor Botanical Garden (남산 야외식물원), so look for both names.

Heads-up

The way to the entrance and some sections inside are steep. Some slopes may be difficult for wheelchair users.

Getting in

Entrance
The approach and main entrance have no steps, but the approach has a long, steep slope that can be hard in a wheelchair. Part of it is a fairly steep wooden deck, which appears to have railings on both sides.
Parking
Accessible parking may be available and easy to use, but its current location is not known. Sources differ on whether the park has its own parking. Before you drive, call Namsan Park Management Office at 02-3783-5900 (+82-2-3783-5900) to ask where to park. The public parking lot is small. Hannamjarak parking lot (한남자락 주차장), opposite the Hyatt Hotel, has 33 spaces and costs 160 won per 5 minutes by car, as of October 2026.
Route
The official route from Hangangjin Station uses Exit 2, which is not the station's elevator exit. Take bus 405 to the Hyatt Hotel stop, then walk about 2 minutes. Bus 402 from Seoul Station or City Hall Station also stops there.

Inside

Paths
Paved and deck paths are mostly level, and some sections are set up for wheelchairs and strollers. There are also dirt paths. Solsupwon has a dirt path for barefoot walking, and there is a barefoot path beside Jidangwon.
Slopes
The garden follows the hillside, so expect some uphill stretches. Hills are fairly gentle overall, but some sections are steep and can be hard in a wheelchair.
Toilets
An accessible toilet is inside the public toilet building across from Hannam Children's Forest Center (한남 유아숲체험원). Wheelchair users can use it freely, and the way there is wide, with no steps or slope. The room appears spacious, with folding grab bars and a sliding door.
Rest
You will find many seats along the way, plus benches, table benches and pavilions. Seats are plentiful at Ikkiwon and Namsan Maru.
Size
The renovated area covers about 30,000 m² and has 11 garden spaces. You can see most of it in about 1 hour. One visitor felt the way from Jidangwon to Namsan Maru was long.

Hours, fee
Open 24 hours, every day, with no ticket booth. Admission is free.
Families
You will often see families with strollers here. There is no stroller rental or storage, family toilet or nursing room. The accessible toilet has a diaper table.
Vision, hearing
The garden's accessibility details show no facilities for visitors with vision or hearing loss. A board on the toilet building's outside wall may be a braille guide. The small text on the board is hard to read in the photo. If you need a braille guide, call Namsan Park Management Office at 02-3783-5900 (+82-2-3783-5900) to ask.
Phone
Call Namsan Park Management Office (남산공원관리사무소) at 02-3783-5900 (+82-2-3783-5900). A second contact number is 02-798-3771 (+82-2-798-3771).
